CORBIN — When 28-year-old Ashley Day realized cats were being bred and then dumped out and left unattended at a local apartment complex, she knew she had to do something.

Day who is a veterinarian technician at the Corbin Animal Clinic lives in Berea but travels to Corbin because she says she loves the area—and the animals. She grew up with goats and cows and her grandmother always had a passion for animals.
