Vintage Felines for Vintage Humans

Without further ado, we are excited to announce our new program, Vintage Felines for Vintage Humans.

This program will pair senior cats (7 years and older) with senior people (65+ but exceptions may be made case by case).  We will provide all vetting care and basic necessities as needed for individuals that need assistance in this aspect, and there will be no type of adoption fee or any financial obligation on their part to qualify.  The biggest things we will be looking for is that someone in the household is physically and mentally capable of caring for a cat, the cat will need to be indoors only, there can be no more than 2 other pets (cats or dogs) in the home already, and any other animals in the home must not be aggressive, and because we will be limiting all covered veterinary care to our local veterinary clinic it would be best for the person to be somewhat local.  We will require a home visit by our approved volunteer before the application is approved, and at least every 6 months.  This way we can keep tabs on the cat and be sure that the new owner is doing ok as well.

We are very excited to launch this new program and have our first Vintage Feline Gilbert going to his new home in the coming week.  There will likely be kinks that need to be worked out as we go, like with any new program, but we are hoping that this will go off smoothly and that we can make a difference in the lives of both senior cats and people.
